Tracy Kimmons

My desire to paint fictional realities stems from my childhood experiences of creating clay figure models and storytelling. It was a way for me to escape into a world of my own, imagining different family dynamics and homes. Telling stories through my art is what truly drives me. When I paint, I strive to capture the essence of movement and emotion, like trying to capture lightning in a bottle. Working with multiple palette knives and paint brushes simultaneously allows me to delve deeper into this emotional depth. The choice of oil pigments and various mediums adds a transformative quality to my work. As an impressionist, my goal is not to replicate reality but to offer a glimpse of it through my unique perspective. Each painting I create holds a story within it, waiting to be shared with those who view my work. My greatest joy is camping and sketching exaggerated images on paper, then painting with oil onto canvases or panels at the studio.

Tracy Kimmons is an impressionistic and abstract artist working primarily in oils and various mediums to accomplish unique abstract color concepts. Before Tracy became a painter, she traveled the world as a photographer working primarily for large architectural firms. She was born in Texas, earned her degree at the Art Institute of Houston, and lives, works, and exhibits in Northern California, New Mexico, and Nevada. "Creativity enables me to perceive beyond the tangible, to extract the infinite out of the finite. It is an exploration into unknown areas so I may be free from all limitations."
