Statement

I have lived in rural areas where nature is part of my daily life. In my glass work, I primarily focus on birds and nature. I also like abstract designs. I work primarily with Bullseye Glass. Their powdered glass allows me to create beautiful designs using stencils. I also use enamels and glass paints to highlight designs.

Bio

I have always wanted to live in the southwest. I was raised in Pennsylvania. In my forties, we moved to the far west suburbs outside of Chicago. After retirement, we moved to Santa Fe. I started my journey in art in Illinois with ceramics. A chance project making fused glass pendants during my holiday led to my switch to glass. I worked with it for about 4 years before teaching beginning fusing for a few years. I have been fusing for about 14 years now. I have a kiln at home and a small studio. I have also been taking silver jewelry and tinsmithing classes. I like exploring the different disciplines and seeing how I can combine them.
