Statement

I create mixed media abstract paintings, gaining inspiration from nature and specifically the effects of light.I watch the sun as it sets, to see the colors it creates and the way the light peaks from behind a cloud.I believe that the transformative power of art happens in the exploration of that which remains unconscious.

Bio

Sharon is a self taught artist, born and raised in East Texas. She now has studio and gallery in Longview,TX and her studio in Santa Fe,NM, where she now lives. One of the pivotal points in her life, as it pertains to art, was her 21st birthday. She lived in Europe for a year and traveled to museums and galleries in several countries.She was exposed to a caliber of art unlike any she had ever seen.This had a startling impact. The art, combined with the whole experience of living in another country changed her and informs her work.
