Statement

A "love song for our planet" is my creative urge! I love to evoke the sensuous essence of place or a sweet moment in time. I have been an artist for my whole life with a passion for drawing and sketching and calligraphy and plein air painting. My favorite materials include graphite, pen & ink, charcoal, gouache and vibrant watercolors. Large brushes with an abundance of paint and intimate marks with a tiny brush or stick can bring out unexpected depth and sparkle and maybe even a smile!

Bio

Nancy Dean Kreger has a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Visual Design. Her family goes back generations in western Massachusetts. In 1985 she created a gallery of 125 regional artists and craftspeople in an old grain building. This concept is still an integral part of her little hometown. In 1991 Nancy drove out to Santa Fe stating "mid-life clarity" and has lived in northern New Mexico ever since. Nancy is a member of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico where she has been included in several of their juried shows, was included in an International Doll Show in Santa Fe and even lived in a yurt out in San Miguel County before marrying her architect husband. She was his partner in their custom energy-efficient home-building business for years and her art has been chosen for several local home magazine covers. Nancy was chosen as the 2011 Santa Fe Wine Festival Artist at Las Golondrinas. She has had one-woman and group shows in New Mexico, Massachusetts, Provence, Tuscany and Mexico. Her work is in many private collections. Nancy Dean Kreger is currently the Treasurer of the Board of the New Mexico Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
