Miranda Morehouse’s work is inspired by the desert, the moon, and destinations down the road. She draws from wide horizons and open skies to create landscapes that capture the emotional resonance of place. Her paintings are intuitive interpretations rather than literal representations, exploring memory, solitude, and connection.
The vast terrain and dramatic skies of New Mexico provide ongoing inspiration. Miranda works primarily in oils, she carefully considers color, light, and composition to create landscapes that feel calm, reflective, and inviting by layering color and softening forms to build depth, atmosphere, and mood. Miranda Morehouse is a self-taught artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She grew up in the high desert of Oregon, where wide horizons, open skies, and quiet spaces shaped the way she sees the world.
She lives and paints in Santa Fe, continuing to explore the landscapes that inspire her and sharing them with others through her work.
