Statement

My work reflects who I am. I care about attention to detail and the nostalgic. I adore texture and pattern, weathered metal/brick, antique buttons and wax seals. I am especially drawn to the subjects of architecture, vintage automobiles and fish. Most importantly, I am interested in integrating these elements, subjects and surface into my work using various media and techniques.

Bio

Michelle K. Arterburn is a native of Denver, Colorado and moved to New Mexico in 1992. She studied engineering and art at the University of Colorado at Denver and the University of Arizona. Michelle is a full-time multi-media artist who incorporates detailed imagery into art. Her media includes watercolor/oil paintings, stoneware/porcelain clay and artisan jewelry. She has received awards from the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, the New Mexico Watercolor Society and various weaving and clay associations. She draws inspiration from time spent at home in New Mexico and the southern San Juan mountains of Colorado.
