Statement

Surrounded by the enchanting light, landscape, and colors of Santa Fe, Marie creates art that is both vibrant and deeply reflective. A journey that began in California, rooted in the rhythm of dance and movement, now flourishes in the high desert's inspiring beauty. Watercolor was her primary media of choice and then along came Covid, opening up more free time to explore a variety of media. Acrylic was a media she hadn't explored much so now was the time to add that to her forte'. She quickly taught herself how to work with acrylic in various ways and created a whole new body of work.

Bio

Watercolor is a meditative practice for me, where a simple drop of water on the palette brings the medium to life, creating serene, flowing compositions that capture moments of peace and spontaneity. In contrast, my acrylic pours burst with abstract energy, vivid colors and dynamic movement that reflect a bold, intuitive process. I am always exploring different mediums and being energized by the experience. It's as if art is always oozing out of me in different forms, be it body casts, acrylic pours, detailed watercolor, dyeing silk etc.. My studio in the Eldorado area is a haven to explore art in various forms and is incredibly inspirational and serene. I am available for private and group lessons and studio tours, offering a personal glimpse into my creative process and the inspiration behind each unique piece.
