Statement

I’m captivated by the interplay of beauty, human emotion, and life’s complexities. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was surrounded by diverse people, museums, architecture, and natural wonders that kindled my creativity. I revel in exploring various materials, each with its own distinct voice and texture. Clay, wood, metal, glass, rich fabrics, and bronze offer unique storytelling possibilities. I’m drawn to the tactile nature of working with these materials, which allows me to express the nuances of human experience in a tangible way. In my art, I seek to capture the intricate balances and contradictions that make us human. I experiment with different materials to evoke emotions, challenge perspectives, and celebrate the beauty of imperfection. My artistic journey is a continuous exploration of the human condition, and I invite viewers to engage with my work and find their own stories within it.

Bio

Laura Feierman is a multidisciplinary artist and sculptor, blending creativity and attention to detail. Born in LA, she’s now based in New Mexico, where she graduated summa cum laude with a 4.18 GPA. Her art reflects the diverse influences of her West Coast roots and Southwestern surroundings. Laura loves hands-on creation and problem-solving. She works with various materials and techniques, bringing vibrant colors and intricate details to life. She enjoys music, dancing, and nightlife when not in the studio. Photography and nature are also passions, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Notably, Laura was part of the interactive art installation Wo/Manhouse 2022, a re-envisioning of Judy Chicago’s 1972 Womanhouse project, exploring gender roles and domesticity. Laura’s installation in the front dressing room showcased her experiences with vulnerability, insecurity, humility, and tenacity. Her art invites viewers to a world of beauty, wonder, and possibility, combining creativity, self-expression, and connection. Through her work, Laura celebrates empowerment, imagination, and the human experience.
