Statement

In the spirit of conservation and wonder, I engage Interdisciplinary and Fine Art media to address human and environmental themes of imbalance and resilience. Collaborations include Archaeology and Art research in Scotland and New Mexico, curatorial partnerships, and numerous projects in Virtual Worlds. Can traditional media effectively communicate contemporary global issues? With the Pecos River paintings and the Whale Song works, I reflect on the effects of humans on place. The Aurora Borealis makes a surprise visit to the NYC subway In The Subway Aurora lithographs.

Bio

June Julian received her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Art, and studied at Pennsylvania State Universities and New York University. She has been on the Graduate faculty of The School of Visual Arts, Ohio University, and The University of the Arts, and was the Education Manager of the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art in New York City. The author of numerous publications in the field of Art and Technology, her artwork has been shown in exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, including Spain, Italy, Greece, Scotland and Korea. The recipient of numerous awards and grants, she is included in several museum
