Statement

What I prefer is to get out of the way. When I do, "my" paintings and poems, often with themes of nature and place, are most successful. When I do, I make space for the one who truly creates the art.

Bio

Jude Deason is a Santa Fe painter and poet. She was born in Normal, Illinois, and is, by profession, a licensed clinical social worker in private practice who, for many years, specialized in facilitating women's groups on parenting and personal issues. In 2006, she moved from Chicago to a remote ranch in northern New Mexico, where she began to devote herself to writing. Within a few years, painting followed.
