Statement

I'm inspired to oil paint whimsical still life, plein air landscapes, and figurative works of people and animals. I love that spark of inspiration which amuses and delights me to create. I challenge myself continually to reach the extent of my skills. I have a Home Occupation License to sell my artwork in Santa Fe County. Patrician Design in Albuquerque also shows my artwork, and in addition to me, can arrange commissions and purchases.

Bio

Most recently, I received awards for plein air oil painting, which include: The Award of Distinction for "Josie's Abode" in June 2024 at the PAPNM "Paint NM" Juried Art Show; Third Place in the Large Painting Division for "Sunflowers at Dawn" in November 2023 at the Rio Grande Art Association Encantada 2023 show; and First Place for "Sunday Morning in Cerrillos" in the Drawing and Painting Division in October 2021 at the Old Church Show in Corrales. I have also won awards for my portraits, and my still life paintings have been accepted into additional juried art shows. Occasionally my oil paintings have been featured on covers such as "Haciendas" the 2011 Santa Fe Home Builders Association magazine. I'm a retired occupational therapist, and have been oil painting since 2000, after relocating with my family from California to Santa Fe, NM.
