Statement

Each medium brings a different energy/temperature to the story or subject matter. My work oscillates between black and white pencil drawings and oil paintings in color. Personal perspective explorations of divine feminine beauty in all forms continuously haunt my psyche. My work is inspired by the magical muse that is conjured up when a concept has been brewing.

Bio

Ana Rivera is a self-taught artist who has lived most of her life in New Mexico, surrounded by culture, beautiful landscapes and breathtaking skies, which have inspired her to create. Ana's work is greatly influenced by surrealism, symbolism, music, life and loss. Ana's piece entitled "Maestra" was first introduced to the New Mexico State Committee of NMWA in Originals 2003, Traces of the Journey a juried and invitational exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum. Since then she has displayed work in exhibits in California, Texas, and New Mexico. Ana also has a pop art series of work inspired by Dia de los Muertos, in her House of Huesos IG collection.
