Statement

Creating is the human experience. Whatever the medium, encaustic, paint, graphite, art is what excites, encourages and holds me. The energy travels through me, it’s in the ethers and if I am lucky enough that it makes a visit and I am able to translate the experience into a visual representation then it’s a good day. To say that nature is my inspiration would be a dull statement and does not nearly express the importance of nature in my creative process. Through my art I hope to express the feeling of being in this world, whatever that is for the viewer.

Bio

I have been creating art from a young age, watercolor, encaustic and graphite pencil to oil and now acrylic painting. Growing up in California most of my inspiration came from nature. I painted landscapes and still life and now focus on abstract expressionism. I am a self-taught artist with little formal training and a lot of experimentation. I currently live in Santa Fe, NM and love the access to so many artists, galleries and museums.
