Statement

From early childhood, I understood the symbiotic relationship between communicating ideas and creating art. Messaging, a nexus or central focal point, has been a profound influence upon my artwork through the years. My intent has always been to make a strong, immediate impact with the visual, which then invites a dialogue about the underlying message.

Bio

I am a contemporary figurative artist living in Santa Fe, NM, who works primarily in oils and soft pastels. My stylistic evolution has taken me from Abstract Expressionism and Photo Impressionism during my university years to my current unique hybridization of Realism and Graphic Design. Almost exclusively, my creative process involves exploring ideas to their fullest realization by working in a thematic series. For example, I created a dream-based series titled Aqueous during the COVID pandemic, which explored the healing qualities of calm, shallow water; a series titled Jung's Tool Belt, which explored Carl Jung's archetypal personalities; and a series titled Empower!, which urged women to join together, stand up, speak out, and vote. My work is exhibited at INTRIGUE Gallery on 238 Delgado Street in the Canyon Road Art District of Santa Fe, NM.
